Being merely just a few hours away from Bangkok, Khao Yai National Park is an amazing get away for the weekend or a long day trip. The long winding road connects the south entrance and the north entrance of the park will take you pass several amazing waterfalls and walking trails. One of the top attractions at Khao Yai is the famous Haew Suwat Waterfall. The waterfalls is just a short 200m walk from the parking lot, making it a great sightseeing stop for families and those short on time. Another great spot for walking is an easy hike to the Nong Pak Chi Observation Tower. The trail is just a short drive north from the visitor center and the trail is just half a kilometer making it a great morning or afternoon stroll for anyone. The observation tower is perfect for wildlife viewing. Try to go early in the morning and before sunset for highest chance of sighting a wildlife.
Of course, as the old saying goes that "troopers operate on stomachs", so be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks with you on the trail.
